Every individual comes to treatment with their own set of goals, fears, ideas, and hopes for their recovery. Our ultimate goal is to provide our clients with the tools necessary to recover from chemical dependency and live a healthy, substance-free life. These tools include a thorough understanding of your addiction and any co-occurring issues, the ability to utilize the methods of recovery such as the AA program, improved self-concept and communication skills, and a personal plan of action that will follow you after formal treatment ends.
Our staff of addiction experts, which includes Chemical Dependency Counselors, Mental Health Professional, a Psychiatrist, a Registered Nurse, and other licensed professionals
provides clients with the necessary tools and skill sets through the following treatment services:
- Chemical dependency education and treatment
- Supportive counseling
- 24-hour staffing
- Medication monitoring
- Physical health evaluations and psychiatric assessment
- Recreational activities
- Support groups
- Individual counseling and goal planning
- Client advocacy and case management
- Health and medication education
- Vocation and education counseling and referrals to community services
- Family services
- Co-occurring evaluation, education, and referral
- Native American Specialty Counseling & Programming
- Aftercare and discharge planning
The staff at Burkwood believes that effective and lasting treatment must be culturally sensitive. To that commitment, Burkwood offers counseling and other services delivered by a Native American Certified Counselor who specializes in traditional values for our Native American patients.
A typical day at Burkwood begins with morning meditation and group therapy, followed by afternoon educational lectures and community support group meetings. Clients participate in individual therapy sessions at least once a week and additional group sessions as needed. In addition to traditional support groups, Burkwood offers specialty treatment groups such as grief group, spirituality group, and other co-occurring lectures and group sessions. |
